Upon Leaving student teaching
P.S. 81 is a very welcoming and friendly school. I felt extremely comfortable as soon as I walked into the school. Everyone was friendly, said hi or good morning and I never felt that intimidated. This is defiantly a school I would consider working in the future. Leaving this atmosphere and all the students behind will be hard.
When I had to switch from Ms. Whites class to Ms. Hehirs all of the students were so sad to see me go. They gave me a little good bye party where they gave me different cards, gifts they made me cupcakes. I formed such good relationships with the class and got to know the students very well. I knew their strengths and weaknesses and I knew what they enjoyed and what they did not enjoy. Being in that class make me very interested in being a 4th grade teacher. I also had a very nice relationship with Ms. White; we became very close. She is someone I would defiantly refer back to and contact her for anything.
With my final student teaching placement coming to an end its all hitting me. I am sad to see this experience come to an end. I have become so use to waking up and seeing the students every morning. It will be weird to not have to see and work with them. Ms. Hehirs second grade class I have grown to love, while yes they are extremely difficult they are still so young. I really enjoy working with the younger students. They are so innocent and I enjoy working with them. Leaving this class will be hard; they have had a count down since 15 days. They keep saying how sad they are going to be once I leave.
I have had such a a great experience at P.S. 81. I formed such great relationships with so many of the teachers in the school. I have also bonded with so many students in both my classes and I will miss them. I plan on coming back to possibly do special education student teaching at P.S. 81 as well.
